pfconv dxf error

Using performer 2.3 on linux I get an error trying to run pfconv with a
.dxf as input:
PF Warning/Usage: pfMemory::free() can't free() non-pfMemory data

performer 2.4 on IRIX with the same .dxf file give no errror, and no
resultant output.

Any suggestions?
