Xi graphics also released drivers for the 3DLabs Wildcat cards
recently. That may be interesting.
They claim they can do quad-buffered stereo on Linux (the
method described in the paper mentioned by Bram requires an
external device known as a sync-doubler).

I recently saw a stereo demo of a Linux system using these drivers
and performance was quite good. However, the people I spoke to were
not very impressed by its stability.
I'd like to get my hands on this card though.
