Hello.
   I have a bit of a wierd problem that has me stumped. We use
performer (and have for quite while) on a number of machines (both IRIX
and Linux). Recently, I was setting up a new machine ...and got some
very wierd performance.
    More specifically, the time values returned by performer are
negative (e.g., Time to load a texture = -0.11 secs). This is true for
perfly as well as for programs we wrote. The negative time values seem
to be responsible for other oddities:
->No framerate (or any other graphics) statistics;

->tether mode in perfly works, but the cars driver on the wrong side of
the road;

->it is not possible to use the mouse to manipulate the image (either to
drive in perfly or to change the viewing position, etc) althought it IS
possible to use the mouse to interact with the gui;

     All other openGL programs work fine. Even commercial games work
fine. All other programs that I have tested give positive time values.
    Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas what might be going on
here?

FYI the system:
Redhat 7.2
kernel 2.4.7
Fasttrak 100 tx2 raid controller
Pentium-4 2.2 GHz CPU
Performer 2.5.0-5
Xfree 4.1.0
NVidia GeForce 3 (with the 2313 drivers)

This machine is identicle to other (funcitoning) machines, with the
exception of the raid controller, the XFree version, and the kernel
version. (Sadly, I cannot upgrade the kernel version beacuse the RAID
controller needs a specific kernel module, which requires redhat's
kernel 2.4.7).
