Hello Performers!
As I'm sure you know, the 2002 SGI Global Developer Conference will
be taking place next week, February 25-27 at the Fairmont Hotel in
San Jose, CA (USA).
But in case you haven't already registered, there is still time -
visit: http://www.sgievents.com/developer2002/
OpenGL Performer will be very well represented at the conference with
two sessions, several related talks, time to meet 1-on-1 with
developers in the 'Engineering Zone', and demos in the Product
Showcase.
In the Visualization track, I will be presenting "OpenGL Performer
Features & Futures". Here is that abstract:
OpenGL Performer is the API of choice for developers creating
real-time visual simulation systems, virtual sets, performance
animation, scientific analysis, virtual reality, engineering
visualization, and other interactive graphics applications on
IRIX and Linux systems. During this session we'll discuss how
OpenGL Performer helps developers address the latest industry
trends. We'll also present the new features of our current
release and examine our plans for future extensions.
Title: OpenGL Performer Features & Futures
Time: Tuesday (Feb 26) 2:30pm
Location: Sacramento room
In the Optimization track, Yair Kurzion will be presenting a very
technical session on "OpenGL Performer Tips & Tricks". Here is the
abstract:
OpenGL Performer is about high-performance graphics and high-end
graphic features. It provides multiple tools for achieving these
goals. During this session we'll discuss performance-tuning
tools, tricks for trading off complexity among processes, and
some new high-end features of the OpenGL Performer API.
Title: OpenGL Performer Tips & Tricks
Time: Wednesday (Feb 27) 9:30am
Location: Fairfield room
Yair will also be presenting a session titled, "Developing
collaborative visualization applications on IRIX" where we will
introduce some of the NEW collaboration work that we're doing.
Title: Developing Collaborative Visualization Applications
Time: Wednesday (Feb 27) 11:00am
Location: Piedmont room
There are also sessions for OpenGL Shader, OpenGL Vizserver, Scalable
Graphics, and many other topics. Check the schedule for all the
details. [Note: the schedule & room info on the website is not as
recent as what we've been given, and our info may still change; check
the conference program at the show for the FINAL schedule]
As I mentioned we also have made arrangements so that Developers can
meet 1-on-1 with members of the Performer team in the "Engineering
Zone." We're scheduled to be there during these times:
Wednesday (Feb 27) 11:00am - 12:00pm
Wednesday (Feb 27) 2:15pm - 3:15pm
If you'll be attending the conference and have Performer questions to
ask or would like to meet with a particular member of the Performer
team during that time, please contact me off-line. (Please include
which topic(s) you'd like to discuss.)
Hope we'll see you at the show!
Allan
