I do not even get the bounding volume intersections.
I checked the bounds of my billboards, and the look OK:
pfSphere at (0.000000,0.000000,0.000000), radius 0.173205
Yet, no intersections at all.

I use the PFTRAV_IS_PRIM mode, but I'll try to enable the
PFTRAV_IS_GEODE flag as well, to see if this helps.
If billboard IS_PRIM tests are not possible, you would assume
that billboards will be treated with a gratuitous IS_GEODE test. Maybe
this is not done automatically. I'll check.
