performance effects using different DISPLAY variables.

Hi,

I just saw this on another developer email list:

I guess this means that there is a difference between:
DISPLAY=:0.0
and
DISPLAY=localhost:0.0

If we are doing graphics intensive work, I wonder how much of a
performance hit this would cause.

Anyone seen this before?
