Brian,

The SGI performer FAQ is a little out of date. If you go to www.lesstif.org
and get the newest lesstif packages I think you should be ok.

Subject: libXm.so.2 and Performer 2.5 on Linux

Hello all,

I am installing Performer 2.5 on a Linux Red Hat 7.2 system. I have
installed the regular lesstif stuff as described on the SGI home page. I
then downloaded all of the Performer stuff and installed. When I get to the
demos, I get an unresolved dependency from rpm as it is looking for
libXm.so.2. As far as I can tell the lesstif that is on the SGI site has
only libXm.so.1. Everything else installs fine, but no demos.

If this was a problem, I would have expected something to appear on the
mailing list, but I haven't seen anything yet. This tends to imply that I am
doing something stooopid, but I am brave and thought I would expose myself
to ridicule by asking for help 8-) So am I doing something silly or is this
a problem?

I have:

lesstif-current-1999.01.28-1.i386.rpm (Required DSOs)
lesstif-current-devel-1999.01.28-1.i386.rpm (Optional)

and all of the Performer stuff as downloaded from the SGI site. All of my
glib and XFree stuff is "newer" than that required...

Anyone got any pointers?

Thanks in advance,

        Brian
