Hi again...
in the SGI-Performer2.5 doc
(/usr/share/doc/sgi-performer-2.5/Perf_PG/html/Perf_PG-6.html#SGI_127) , we
can read:
"If only a rough volume-volume intersection is required, you can specify a
bounding cylinder in the pfSegSet without any line segments at all and
request discriminator callbacks at the PFTRAV_IS_NODE or PFTRAV_IS_GSET
level."
...
And how may I get back hits?!?
As I don't have to define segs, hits[0][0].query() would not be right.
Is the doc true?!?
Can we really make 'rough volume-volume intersection'?
I didn't see anything like that in performer2.5 demos and tutorials.
Strange, when we realize that volume-volume intersection is the basis of
motion-collision detection!
I hope that i'm false. ;-))
I tryed a lot of sort to make it work, without success ( altough segment
collision detection works fine).
How do you manage with your own motion-collision detection???
Making a lot of segs to try to approximate the volume is not a right answer,
as very little volumes may go in the interleaved areas (the example of
road-sign and a car, of my yesterday's mail).
Have I forget a doc or a sample code???
Fred
