Unless I am oversimplifying, your should be able to do this without a
problem.
Here is the generic method.
Find the node or group the performer has made of your object.
Find all the geodes.
Find all the geosets of all the geodes.
The geosets contain the vertex information. You can manipulate this safely
BEFORE it is
added to the scene graph. Otherwise, you need to investigate fluxed geosets
or run single process.

OpenGL has mainly operations on some voxels, performer has mainly
