OpenGL Performer is oriented towards doing real-time graphics. real-time
!= photorealistic. It's that simple.
That being said, in the latest version of Performer (2.5) we have added a
whole slew of features for "enhanced realism". Check it out ... there is
some really cool stuff there. I won't list the features here but check out
our press release if you're curious. If you want to see this stuff in
action I suggest you get in touch with your SGI rep and et him/her know,
I'm sure they will be more than pleased to show you why Performer rocks
and has the best performance/realism balance you can find in a SG out
there. (ok, so maybe Im a litle bisaed here, but what can I say? :)
_Everything_ we do is done is such a way that performance will not get
sacrificed.
