As I recall DXF has a palette of 256 standard colors -- useful in it's day
but a bit outdated. It looks like there are only 9 colors defined in the
color table for the
DXF loader. Check out
/usr/share/Performer/src/lib/libpfdb/libpfdxf/pfdxf.c. The .pfb file
would have the same colors as the original DXF file. Converting to
Inventor format or 3DS would likely give you more flexibility.
