Hello, I would like to personally announce the IRIX Innovation Zone, a

forward it and indeed the entire three day event. The announcement text
follows. More information, including the official rules, can be found on

IRIX INNOVATION ZONE
SGI is sponsoring a Hobbyist Competition for the first time in nearly a
decade. Anyone with an "Innovative" application idea for the IRIX
platform is invited to participate.
The grand prize is a Silicon Graphics "next generation"
high-performance, high-bandwidth IRIX workstation. The second place
prize is a Silicon Graphics F180 Flat Panel Display.
The competition is open to hobbyists developing applications for the SGI
IRIX platform. Those wishing to enter are invited to submit a binary to
SGI. Details and submission guidelines are available on the web at
http://www.sgievents.com/developer2002/.
Competition entry entitles the hobbyist to a free pass to the 2002 SGI
Global Developer Conference in San Jose, California, where all entries
will be shown. Attendees of the conference will vote to determine the
prize winners.
