I'm a newbee in performer, but know some issues in Linux.

If your problem is in Linux, perhapse may you upgrade the kernel usb driver.
A time-out have must be greater than usual for some joysticks, which are slow
USB.

The problem has been solved a mounth ago.
My Saitek X36 works fine now...
