Hi group;

Just thought i would contribute something other than questions!

We have developed an improved version of the well-known
'sgiFlock' library for communication with an Ascension
Flock-Of-Birds (serial line).

- It works on SGI and Linux
- It uses a configuration file so you can move it from one
hardware system to another without re-compile.
- It does not hang on communication errors, no matter
what the previous user of the hardware did to the serial
line or the hardware. (This works for us here - you will
no doubt let me know about your own experience.)

All the sources for this code are provided, with a simple
example program. Please contribute corrections, example
programs, comments, questions, etc. so they can be added
to the library and shared with all.

You get the code via anonymous ftp from
206.248.115.226

set default to the 'outgoing' directory and get
sgiFlockPlus.tar.Z

Enjoy!
