Hello pfers,
until now, we have been using the demo edition of Performer 2.4 on
linux (on Compaq hardware with nVidia Quadro2/Pro video card) without
problems.
We bought Performer FULL Edition in order to be able to use the 2
processors of our machine. Unfortunatly, Performer applications freeze
when using other multiprocessing mode than PFMP_APPCULLDRAW.
I am wondering, what is the configuration recommended by SGI and if
anyone on this list have encountered such problems.
Our configuration:
Hardware:
PC Compaq AP550 : bi-PIII 1Ghz, 512Mo RDRAM
nVidia Quadro2/pro video card
Software:
Performer: 2.4.2 (but the symptom is the same with 2.4)
linux kernel: 2.2.18
glibc: 2.1.3
nVidia driver: 1.0-1541 (AGP Driver: NVIDIA)
XFree 4.0.1
When running perfly with PFNFYLEVEL set to 7, I got the following
warning and notice messages (i stripped out info messages):
9864 PF Notice: level Internal Debug (7) set by
environment variable PFNFYLEVEL
9866 PF Notice: pfuRunProcOn() - MUSTRUN of process 9866
on CPU 0 failed.
9865 PF Warning/Internal: pfWindow::chooseFBConfig - failed to get
visual for overlay window.
9865 PF Warning/Internal: pfWindow::open - null visual for "OpenGL
Performer [pipe 0] - Overlay". returning...
9866 PF Warning: Unsupported sysmp token (19)
I got the same warnings when forcing PFMP_APPCULLDRAW (perfly -m
0).
Thanks in advance for any help.
