I have permissions on all files and directories (OPT.N32
sub dir). OPT.N32/Makedepend is generated with r/w permissions,
but size = zero bytes at the lock error point.

-rw-rw-r-- 1 moe NEL 0b Nov 6 11:05 Makedepend

rm'ing Makedepend makes no apparent difference. cd'ing up
one and making all libs gives similar results.

trying it as a different user gives same. even chmod EVERYTHING
to rwx makes no difference.

IRIX64 6.5.10m IP27
cc & CC: MIPSpro Compilers: Version 7.30

and everything copied from /usr/share/Performer/src/pguide/

on another system:

IRIX64 6.5.12m IP25
cc & CC: MIPSpro Compilers: Version 7.2.1.3m

--> I think is something to do with the NFS server being linux.
when I cp /usr/share/Performer/src/pguide/ to /tmp, I can
compile successfully.
