Hi Tammy,

>1. Does Performer support double precision values?

I don't know. It's my understanding though that the graphics
hardware in the opengl pipe does its operations in float, not
double. And if you're working with really large coordinates, you let
less precision in your depth buffer. (I'm sure the better informed will
chime in & correct my misconceptions here.)

>2. What is a good way to search the Performer mailing list archives

I asked this question a couple days ago and a kind soul pointed me at

  http://mailarchivers.ncsa.uiuc.edu/cgi-bin/mailarchivers/mainscreen.pl?archive=PERFORMER

I miss reality.sgi.com and sent email to my local sales rep letting him
know that is was useful to me to have it available.

hth,

gpk
