Salary 19,400 GBP per year
3D DISPLAY RESEARCH PROGRAMME
The Digital Design Studio at the Glasgow School of Art has 2
vacancies for Performer/OpenGL C++ programmers. Both positions are
involved in an EPSRC funded project which looks to the car showroom
of the future. Instead of encountering a salesman in this showroom,
the public will interact with a 3D interactive display system using
realistic and credible computer models with fully spatialised sound
effects.
The successful candidates will be working in an Irix environment
with a large-scale 3D display on a dual pipe Onyx2 IR3. One of the
objectives of this project is to create a 3D environment that the
general public can work with in a simple and easy way. You will be
working with an HCI specialist and a 3D modeller in a team
environment.
Successful candidates will have the following skills:
High performance graphics programming (real-time)
OpenGL or other high performance graphics libraries is essential
IRIS Performer is beneficial
Experience programming in a Unix environment, preferably Irix
C++/C programming experience is essential
Ability to write papers for publication
