Performer/OpenGL C++ Programmers
2 year RA1A contract (2 vacancies)
Salary £19,400 per year
The Digital Design Studio of the Glasgow School of Art has 2
vacancies for Performer/OpenGL C++ programmers. This is an EPSRC
funded project developing an interactive 3D display system,
incorporating sound, which will enable the public to engage with
realistic and credible computer generated models in a car selection
process. You will be working in an Irix environment with a
large-scale 3D display on a dual pipe Onyx2 IR3. One of the
objectives of this project is to take a technology normally
used in high-end design studios and open it up to the general
public with photo-realistic graphics in a 3D interactive
environment. You will be working with an HCI specialist and a
3D modeller in a team environment.
Both positions are research active and will require publications
over the course of the project.
Successful candidates will have the following skills:
High performance graphics programming (real-time)
OpenGL or other high performance graphics libraries is essential
IRIS Performer is beneficial
Experience programming in a Unix environment, preferably Irix
C++/C programming experience is essential
