pfInit and GL context

My Fellow Performers,

I've been having some trouble with Performer and the lastest NVIDIA Linux
drivers, and I was wondering if someone can shed some light on the
subject...

Using the NV 1541 and NV 1512 Linux drivers pfInit **must** be called before
the creation of the GL context. Otherwise you get a X crash. Using the NV
1251 drivers, as well as any SGI version of performer, you may call pfInit
after context creation. Which is the right way ??
