Before installing XFree86-4.x on a 6.2 system, I would recommend removing
all traces of XFree86-3.3 and any previous libGLs on the system. Then
install XFree86-4.x, remove any libGL.so / libglx.a / libGLcore.a that
came with XFree86-4.x before installing NVidia's driver.

Also, before testing with Performer, I would recommend testing with some
regular OpenGL apps first. I would start with glxinfo, then maybe try a
3d screensaver (e.g. /usr/X11R6/lib/xscreensaver/sproingies). If both of
those worked, then I would try perfly.
