Hi,
I'm running Linux 6.2 (kernel 2.4.2-2smp) with the latest Nvidia driver
(1.0-1512) with an GeForce card. I'm running a compiled and installed
version of XFree 4.1.0 (ie: not and rpm install).
Upon running "perfly" i get an error message stating the following:
PF Warning/Internal: pfWindow::openNewNoPort() - null visual.
PF This can happen if IRIX has placed the
shared memory area too close to the heap.
PF Try in your shell: setenv PFSHAREDBASE
0x18000000
I've made sure that the all the pertinent "libs" are in the right place and
that there is no duplication of libs in either directory.
in /usr/lib:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 Sep 6 09:40 libGL.so ->
libGL.so.1.0.1512*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 Sep 6 09:40 libGL.so.1 ->
libGL.so.1.0.1512*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 313188 Sep 6 09:17 libGL.so.1.0.1512*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 21 Sep 6 09:40 libGLcore.so.1 ->
libGLcore.so.1.0.1512*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 3414320 Sep 6 09:17
libGLcore.so.1.0.1512*
in /usr/X11R6/lib:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 632856 Jun 5 05:25 libGLU.a
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 622 Feb 4 2000 libGLU.la*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Sep 6 09:33 libGLU.so ->
libGLU.so.1.3*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Sep 6 09:33 libGLU.so.1 ->
libGLU.so.1.3*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 296709 Feb 4 2000 libGLU.so.1.2.0*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 634032 Jun 5 05:25 libGLU.so.1.3*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 26248 Jun 5 05:25 libGLw.a
What I did do was remove the mesa-libGLs. If i do use the mesa libGLs (with
the Nvidia libs co-existing in the /usr/lib directory), and run "perfly" i
get a black screen with a green column strip on the left side of the screen.
Any suggestions on how to remedy the problem?
Thanx
Robert
