yes, name mangling changed in gcc 3.0 (actually, shortly before releasing
gcc 3.0 one could configure/compile gcc pre3.0 to use the old cxx-abi. that
stuff was removed entirely since it wasn't able to cope w/ how the rtti and
template implementation now work in gcc 3.x).

to the performer engineering team:
 - do you think pf2.5 could be released for different gcc versions
   (say 2.95.3 and 3.0)?
 - if not, what can i do to help make this happen?
