I'm investigating the possible use of PCs running Linux
and Performer to drive a virtual reality "Wedge" system.
Specifically, it has to drive two monitors at identical
resolutions in stereo with synchronised vertical retrace.
The system will have only one stereo emitter and one
scene graph, but both screens are being viewed by both
eyes. Full screen only mode would be fine, as would
the two monitors being seen as a single device at the
programmer level.
The SGI 230 and similar workstations don't seem to be
dual head capable and the GraphicsCluster is looking a
bit of an overkill for just running two displays. Can
anyone recommend a graphics card (or pair of PCI cards)
that would do the trick?
