High,
I have a problem using Performer2.4 under Linux. I get a Seg-Fault even
running perfly or any of my own applications.
I have used Performer2.3 under Linux to build up my application for
several month
without problems. Now I wanted to upgrade to 2.4.
1.) I downloaded all packages from SGI
17507739 performer_demos-2.4-1.i386.rpm
19272449 performer_dev-2.4-1.i386.rpm
9604230 performer_docs-2.4-1.noarch.rpm
4747778 performer_eoe-2.4-1.i386.rpm
2.) I checked the filesize. o.k.
3.) Installation worked fine. I'm using the Demo key.
4.) I started perfly. perfly is starting in fullscreen and shows the
OpenGL-Performer banner and exits with a segmentation fault.
5.) I started perfly within gdb to get some more debugging info. The
problem is in pfChannel::pf_computeStress() from /usr/lib/libpf.so.1 .
See the gdb-output below.
6.) My System:
- PentiumIII, 700Mhz,
- Suse Linux 6.4
- graphics driver: XI-graphics accelerated-X V1.1
- graphics card E&S Tornado3000.
- glibc 2.1.3-15
Up to now I haven't had problems with this configuration. Performer2.3
had no problems.
Has anybody an idea ?
Is there a bug fix ?
What about the OpenGL compatibility. I'm not sure, if the graphics
driver is capable of OpenGL 1.2.
But this shouldn't result in a seg-fault.
Is the glibc version critical ?
Thanks, Juergen Gotschlich
