Dear Performer,
Thank Angus for your distortion correction code. very nice!
The problem I am facing now is how to set up the correct display of the
Octane (SEI) to show the correct images on the dome screen. The Octane has
two pipes. Currently, the first pipe (called P0) layouts the whole screen
with all windows and Performer scene, and the second pipe ( called P1)
draws what the Performer program asks it to draw.
This means if I connect P0 to the first projector of the dome, I can see
all windows but not only the scene after distortion.
Two ways I can think of to solve it, and would like to ask if they are
going to work and how.
(1) use command "setmon", and ask the moniton output only the part of the
distorted scene.
This means I can still draw the undistorted scene on the screen and ask
the program to read the frame buffer ( which 'subLoad' does);
Do I have this option on Octane? If this works, how can I set both pipes
to 1280x960_30 ? Do I need to use genlock option?
(2) If I can not 'setmon' to ask only see part of the screen, then I will
use OpenGl function. I mean write the undistorted image to backbuffer
instead of front buffer, then read back buffer to draw.
Did these sound resonable? Thanks in advance for your advice.
Jian
