OT: Dual-channel octane2 & a HMD

Sorry for the non-performer-like question, but I could use some
 advice on how to use my HMD on the Octane2.

I want to drive a N-vision VGA HMD and there aren't any VGA
 formats to choose from. The lowest res is 1024x768.

Does anyone have an Octane2/V12/Dual-channel video format
 for 640x480?

Will the VPro*.def files in the /usr/gfx/vfc/rules directory and
 VFC-1.2 allow me to do what I want?

Cabling is another issue, but I'll keep searching the net on that
topic...8)
