Dear sirs,
I have been getting the following error message from my pfASD application:
PF Fatal/Resource(2): pfMemory::new() Unable to allocate 4304 bytes
from arena 0x4a388000.
Try using pfSharedArenaSize() or env PFSHAREDSIZE
to increase the arena size
(currently 750000.00 KBytes) and check for adequate setrlimit()
values and available space on swap (or pfTmpDir()).
It is my understanding that the pfASD creates a new geometry each
computation cycle. And, it would seem reasonable that the memory associated
with the prior geometry be released. However, a colleague of mine, Mike
Lewis, has recently posted several mails about his inability to reacquire
memory that has been released(pfFree,pfDelete). Does anyone have either a
response to Mike's concerns about Performer memory reclamation or to my
concerns about pfASD running out of memory to generate the new geometry?
Thank you in advance,
Alex Hill
