Hi,
this might be a little out of scope, but since some of
you might share the same interests ...

I was just about to order a new visualisation computer...
Choices were: Another IR3 or a Linux Cluster (by SGI).
The latter would have the chance to spend more
money on the displays (more CAVE-sides ;). Since
many of you are now dealing with the linux performer
it might be interesting for you that when talking to sales
in germany i got a fax stating that all INTEL-based products
are removed from SGI's product list beginning 7.1.2001!!!
Meaning: There will not be a cluster sollution and,
further more, no more Intel workstations (except the intergraph type).

Did anyone now more about this strategy plan?
What will happen to the now beloved linux performer?
Mmhh...many open ends ;)

like 2 hear from you

bye Marc
