Just tried perfly cow.obj with both Mesa 3.4.2 and Mesa 3.5 on my Rh7.1
machine. Worked fine.

All I can suggest is verifying that you're picking up the libs you think
you're picking up. do an: ldd `which perfly`
and that'll tell ya where it's picking up libGL*
