FOV and far clipping plane

Hi,

I have some problems concerning the field of view and the far clipping
plane. If I decrease the field of view the far clipping plane seems to
come closer to the viewpoint so that some objects and even fog effects
are clipped and disappear though I am zooming into the scene.
However a call to pfChannel::getNearFar() shows that the far clipping
plane has not been changed.
Increasing the far clipping distance when zooming into a scene seems to
fix the problem. But I would really like to know if I do something wrong
or if Performer does?
