Greetings:
I am new to this list and to Performer.
I want to set up my current NT machine to dual boot with linux, and then procede to install Performer so that I can learn to use it.
I have much experience with VRML2, WorldUp, some with Inventor and a little with OpenGL.
I have been unable to locate linux drivers for my current 3D graphics card, OxygenRPM (proprietary RPM chipset), so I probably need a new 3D accelerator?
So, here are my questions:
1. What do you all recommend as a relatively inexpensive (under $500.00) 3D graphics card to use with a Linux/Intel/Performer configuration?
2. What flavor of Linux should I install for this purpose? I am also new to Linux, with some unix experience, so ease of installation, set-up, etc. is an issue. Need to have obviously all the 3d, OGL, etc. drivers. RedHat, SuSe?
3. Where is the best documentation to help me pull this off and get up an running with Linux/Performer?
