Performer expiry date

Hej folks !

I have a question about the expiry date of the Performer libs in Linux:
Is the limit of 90 days there too encourage people to buy a license, or
rather only to make people upgrade to the latest version as soon as there
is one available ?

My university would like to install the latest libs in their Linux
computer rooms, but the staff there is unsure if it should buy a license
or not (and the machines are only single CPU, so that wouldn't affect the
decision)
