So I don't know if anyone ever tried to convert to
.iv from say alias.wir but it can be done through the
alias package by exporting the file as .iv.
There is also an exe AliasToIv by Abaco Systems
that seems Not to be able to read alias wire files.( maybe it's too old)
background:
Since there is no converter from Maya to iv (or flt for that matter)
then the option is to save a Maya model as alias.wir and then open
alias and export the file as an iv file. (since the flt2iv converter
is junk ie: the scenegraph comes out FLAT. it is also unusable)
You might ask why .iv. well it is for backward compatibility
on a project. Inventor models can be used with Performer and
Inventor apps. (it's still a great format ~;)
So maybe some one has a converter that they could recommend that
will do the job of converting Alias or Maya to Inventor.
