Hej guys !

*sigh*
*doublesigh*

I still haven't found one working way to import 3D models from 3DS Max
into Performer ...

I took the tip from a guy here to heart and started to use VRML 1.0, but
now the colors are wrong (these are Inventor SceneViewer screenshots, but
the same happens in Performer):

As you can see are the colors wrong (as well in Linux as in IRIX) as long
as there is no light source pointing at the material, and only ambient
light exists ... as soon as I create a light source (I am not really
experienced with that in SceneViewer, the "Sun" setting i perfly doesn't
have any effect at all), the materials show the right color "where they
are shone upon" ... :-/

I have also tried to convert all textures to .RGB - that crashed Inventor
(the .iv-file is 10 MB, the textures alltogether maybe 3 Megs) :-/ ...
If I only convert one texture (e g the roof) to .RGB, I can't see any
visible effect - doesn't help to change the file format ...

Help ! Should I fall back to 3DS ? Is that the only way out ?

Thanks for your tips in advance ! :-)

Servus,
  Gernot

PS: This is _no_ commercial project, even though I put it up on my
company-page..
