Thanks for your nice help regarding the glibc2.2 vs Performer prob...
:-)

I have now downgraded my mixed Mandrake 7.2/8.0 to 7.2 again (which fixed
some other weird problems, and reinstalled some files that got
devastated during the Linux 2.4.3 filesys corruption disaster :-/ ) ...
and I will now stick to glibc2.1 until the new version of Performer is
released ...
