Hi,
You could use Blender under linux. But what do you mean by "real-time
models" ?
For static 3D models you could design using Blender and save it
as VRML 1.0. Later you could import it into performer by renaming .wrl to
.iv. It supports colors, uv textures etc., and it is free. Download it
from www.blender.nl.
