Key events not working ?!

Hej guys !

I am hacking on an SGI Onyx and Linux machine concurrently, and was quite
happy when I finally found out how to process key events...

Now, after 3 hours of debugging on my Linux machine at home, I found out
that not even the test applications for Performer receive any key events
from X !

Pressing "r", Space or F1 in
perfly crater.3ds
detail road.rgb road_detail.rgb
, for example, won't do anything (except print the chars on the terminal)

Is this a known problem ?

I have X 4.0.3, Gnome 1.2 (Sawfish window manager), Mandrake 7.0 based
installation, and the latest Performer packages ... the code (and the
examples) work fine on the Onyx ...
