Stephane,
you don't actually need to anything other than the usual framebuffer
buffers (e.g. pbuffers). You can just render your texture as normal to
the back buffer and read this back into texture memory using
PFTEX_SOURCE_FRAMEBUFFER. Then re-render into the backbuffer using this
texture in the final scene and finally do swap buffers.
For examples I recommend having a look at Angus Dorbie pages
www.dorbie.com and the EnvMap example.
