I'll bet you're running RedHat 7. They shipped a broken version of Mesa.
You'll want to grab Mesa-3.3-7 or later off their website. I have a
mirror of it here: http://reality.sgi.com/flynnt/

If you're seeing this after installing NVidia's driver, most likely your
symbolic links are messed up in /usr/lib/. Please read NVidia's README
off their linux driver download page or read the following howto:
