I don't think these problems are related to Performer libs but you could
try using dso's and redistribute your dso's with the application in your
own subdirectory. Then you can have an application directory with the
PFLD_LIBRARY_PATH or PFLD_LIBRARY32_PATH or PFLD_LIBRARY64_PATH set to
load from there avoiding any dso version problems.

As for other library software you need to use dso's to make your code
cross platform, and that's exactly the issue you're running into now
