Sounds like you're not getting a texgen for the cliptexture...
Are you using a MultiGen .flt file? If so try tacking
"-y flt,20,1" onto the argument list you feed to perfly.
Or in your code set pfdCOnverterMode("flt", 20, 1) when
loading your flt files.
Otherwise, if you're using the cliptexture API your
pfuClipCenterNode should have a default per-frame
position update unless you've installed your own,
and should centre itself... might want to check
that.
