The problem is the software you are using to compute the clipcenter
position.
This can be any function under application control, but there are helper
functions to calculate the center position based on dropping the eye
position onto the plane of the texture (the implication here is that
there needs to be correect knowledge about the mapping of the texture
onto a plane).
It sounds like you are just unhappy that the clipcenter is not being
positioned where the channel is looking at. You can compute this
position (in texture space) and then tell the cliptexture to position
the clipcenter at this position, or perhaps the helper function which
you might otherwise be happy about has been given some bogus
information.
