RESEARCH ASSISTANT/OFFICER -
LEEDS ADVANCED DRIVING SIMULATOR,
UNIVERSITY OF LEEDS, U.K.

Required for a fixed term of two years to work within the Institute for
Transport Studies (ITS) as part of a multi-disciplinary team focused on
the technical and scientific development of the Leeds Advanced Driving
Simulator (http://mistral.leeds.ac.uk) as well as other projects and
duties for ITS.

With a good degree in relevant discipline plus ideally a Masters degree,
or equivalent experience, in Computing Science you should be familiar
with Silicon Graphics workstations and have knowledge of UNIX, Open GL
and IRIS Performer. Strong programming ability in C/C++/VisualC++ is
essential and FORTRAN desirable. Skills in web authoring, Windows
operating systems and experience of survey techniques and databases is
desirable. Part time study towards a PhD would be considered.

The salary would either be on the R1B scale (£16775-£18731)) or R1A
scale (£16775 - £25213) per annum according to qualifications and
previous experience.
