That's a good starting point but George is being far too modest, he
and Brian Roberts have published a very good article titled "Porting
from IRIX to Linux" in the February 2001 edition of the Linux Journal
magazine, pgs 148-157, detailing their port of the Performer-based
ACRT land vehicle sim with some 30+ specific items to watch for.
The article itself deals with porting to Performer 2.3 but many of
the same issues correspond to Performer 2.4. I'd heartily recommend
reading the article -- issues of the Feb 2001 Linux Journal might(?)
still be available at your local bookstore / newsstand.
I've only seen it in hardcopy. But for those with a subscription you
