You might check to see if you have up to date patches for Irix and
Performer. I recall a couple of years ago I had similiar problems
on an Octane with the multichannel option, happened to be using
4++at++640x480_60 too. Octanes use some version of IMPACT graphics I
believe. What happened is that when I turned on the multichannel
it would work, but then after i quit the program if i ran it again
i got a hang on the window open. This would then always happen
until i rebooted, and then i would get a good run, then more hangs.
I can't recall the version of irix or performer i was using at the
time, but we called this into SGI and got a response that this was
a bug (cant remember if it was in irix, X, or performer) that would
be fixed with the next patch. When we got the next patch it was
fixed. Don't know if this is the same thing you have or if this
is helpful, but you might want to look into that.
