Hey All,
I have an older setup and need some configuration help. I have an
Onyx RE2 with three graphics pipes, connected to three MCOs running IRIX
6.2 and I need to genlock all three pipes together so that they are in
synch.
Here's what little I know:
- The setmon command takes are argument (-g) that tells the
hardware to accept a genlock signal in and synch on that
- I issue three different setmon commands, one for each
pipe/MCO, but only have pipes 2 & 3 genlocked.
I.e.
setenv DISPLAY :0.0
/usr/gfx/setmon -S -x -p 0 2++at++1025x768_60
setenv DISPLAY :0.1
/usr/gfx/setmon -S -x -g -p 1 2++at++1025x768_60
setenv DISPLAY :0.2
/usr/gfx/setmon -S -x -g -p 2 2++at++1025x768_60
- I've used /usr/gfx/gfxinfo to verify that the configuration
has been downloaded, but can't tell if the genlock is working.
Here's my question(s):
How do I physically connect the genlock cables so that all three pipes
are in synch? There are two sets of physical connections on the system
that could be used to daisy chain the genlock signal from one pipe to
another. There are a set of 'input' and 'loop/output' ports on the back
of each graphics pipes on the back of the SGI rack, and there are a
similar set of 'input', 'loop' ports on each of the MCOs. Which genlock
ports do I use? Starting with pipe#0, I believe that I need to chain
the other two pipes to pipe#0. How do I do this? I've tried various
configurations, and haven't had much success. If I use a scope, what
type of signal should I get out of the system for genlock in order to
verify that the hardware is working correctly?
Thanks for your help,
Lee
