I am not aware of a STEP file loader for performer. However, there are
probably several CAD packages that will import STEP geometry and export in
a format that can be read by performer. Information on STEP can be found
at http://pdesinc.scra.org/ which is an government/industry consortium to
promote the adoption of step. This site has a list of tools that have STEP
translators and vendors that can supply or help build STEP translators. If
you are interested in geometry, AP203 is the particular STEP standard to
look at.
