Most of the Performer formats are 3rd party. The idea being that you
read any format in and create a Performer scene graph.
There is a performer binary format which is a fast readable binary
version of it's scene graph it has a .pfb extension but to create it you
build a scene graph in Performer and write it out. There is also the pfa
format which is the ascii equivalent but that's not well documented.
If you want something quickly you might preffer doing it in Inventor....
or dare I suggest that you write a loader for your favourite modelling
package, like AC3D on Linux perhaps..?
