Jerome,
We have medit files (version 2.0f) loading well under linux (redhat 6.2,
XFree86 4.0, Nvidia GEforce 256 (ELSA)), with textures. first i assume you
have hit the 't' key (or via gui) to try toggling textures on and off.
Textures have not proved a problem as long as you avoid absolute path
references to textures in the original medit file which can not be
replicated on the linux machine. Following the original medit
recommendation of having all textures in a ' textures' sub-directory below
the location of your medit files works fine for us. We simply copy the
structure from our onyx to the linux box. Suggest you go back into the
medit file on the onyx and look at path associated with each texture. If
the path is not simply the texture name use 'texture gizmo,File,Replace
this texture with another one' to get it to use the one in the textures
sub-directory.

I do recall that we had to recompile the medit loader on both platforms in
order for performer to use version 2.0f (the default is version 1.5 or so)

We have found that there are limits to medit behaviors (engines) that are
supported on linux, generally we have problems with the more complex things
like having medit move objects on splined paths. Rotation and simple
animations seem ok. A residual problem we have not yet bottomed are
occasional core dumps caused by rapid changes of heading with extremely
texture rich scenes.

 Subject: Textures problems

Hello,

I'am tring to download a medit format file.

On a Irix (onyx IR) it's all right with perfly and my
source code.

But on Linux both perfly and my source can't download
textures.

According, with the fact that I set correctly the
PFPATH where are all my textures.
I tried to put them on the same directory that my
medit file, but it results not better.

So I tried to convert this file in pfb that I can load
normaly with other files.
Unfortunately, the pfConv on Irix find normaly the
textures, but to read the created file on perfly I
need to put the LOD scale on zero ???

And the pfConv on Linux have also the problem adding
with the problem of loading textures.

If someone can tell me if it's a bug of the medit
loader or anything else ???
What happen too with the pfConv ??? Do I need options
???

Thanks for all, and sorry for my english ...
